About
Dixon General Contractors Inc. (DGC) was formed in 2004 by Chuck Dixon with the goal to maintain high standards related to the quality of work, a fairness code on how customers would be treated and a friendly work environment for subs and customers.
DGC was initially created to build single family homes in its subdivisions in Hickory and later included other subdivisions in Denver, North Carolina. Starting in 2013, work was expanded to home remodeling and additions in the Charlotte area to include: Myers Park, Dilworth, Plaza Midwood, Cotswold, Foxcroft, Carmel and other fine areas within Charlotte.

The project you are anticipating will be one of, if not, the largest financial investment you will ever make. We recognize the level of trust you are placing in us and assure you we take this responsibility seriously. We are committed to completing the work in a quality manner according to the plans and your vision, to treat you with the respect you deserve, be fair in all our decisions and create an atmosphere at the job site that is friendly and inviting. We recognize we are a guest of your home and will always conduct ourselves accordingly and require our subs do the same.
Some contractors have the attitude once they start the job, the work area is their domain and you are a guest with limited access. Certainly, we want to make sure no one is exposed to a dangerous situation, but otherwise, you and your guests will always be welcome at any time to enter the work area. In fact, we encourage you to come by and let us know whenever you see anything that does not look as you had envisioned or simply have a question about what or why we are doing construction in a certain way. We believe the more you know about the construction process, the more comfortable you will be with us and our subs and the happier you will be with the finished product.
We believe we are working as partners, that through mutual respect and good communication we, together, can create the vision you have for your home. We want you to look at this experience as being enjoyable and a collaboration that includes cooperation and laughter, not disagreement and anger. We have become good friends with virtually all our clients because we spend substantial time together sharing a laugh and the excitement of the work and, when necessary, the challenges that we sometimes must face. If we both approach any issue with an open mind, a friendly attitude and a wiliness to listen, we will find an equitable solution, have a pleasant experience and you will have the result you want, that’s our promise to you.
