Scope
Our clients felt it was time for a total update of their home and a new two-story carport with their offices and an entertainment area above the carport. The work on the main house was extensive and customized. This included demolition of the kitchen and pantry, removing the wall between the kitchen and breakfast room by welding a steel beam in place, enlarging the opening in the rear wall to allow for 4 large accordion style doors, removal of all trim around the doors and windows and replaced with new trim, all new windows throughout the house, new tin ceiling in the dining room, new brick wall with special finish next to the kitchen, new hardwood floor over existing concrete sunroom floor to match the rest of house, new master bath and new mudroom entry from the driveway. Custom cabinets were installed in the kitchen, mudroom, pantry, master bedroom and breakfast area. All the hardwood floors downstairs were refinished and the entire house was painted on the inside.
A new two-story all brick carport was constructed with a partial new driveway matched to the existing driveway, to include a brick border. The first floor included a barn door for access to the storage/work room that had custom cabinets built onsite. The second floor utilized several custom features such as stained-glass window accents, reclaimed wood wall finishes, wood beams on the vaulted ceiling and refitting a wood picnic table with a sink. A special finish was applied to the hardwood floors to create a blue wood finish to accent the color of the window frames. The most important change was the relocation of the basketball goal (according to the husband) and we made sure he was included at every step to guaranty the location and the direction the hoop were to his satisfaction, assuring maximum space for family basketball.
