Scope

The owners of this home decided to remodel virtually the entire house. This included all new electrical wiring, plumbing, air conditioning, new windows throughout the house, roof and considerable new structural framing. They wanted to maintain the exterior features, but increase the square footage and functionality of the house. We kept the main roof lines on the house and exterior designs while replacing and expanding the second floor with new walls and roof. New hardwood flooring was added where walls and old flooring was removed and all the floors were refinished.

On the first floor, we opened the kitchen area directly to the dining room, which in the past had been separated by a breakfast area which we eliminated along with an existing bathroom. The rear entrance had a laundry, but no place for mudroom lockers. We expanded the size of the room by adding additional square footage that was utilized for the mudroom lockers. The two existing bathrooms were eliminated and two new bathrooms were added to the master bath and hall area.

The second floor had a kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms, but did not utilize all the area since some of the space was used as storage due to low roof lines limiting the headroom. The upstairs was enlarged by taking off the existing roof and expanding the useable area with new walls and roof. This allowed the owners to add an office, an additional bathroom, teen room, expand both bedrooms making the upstairs much more functional.

The end result created a refreshed and up-to-date interior that was more open and functional while maintaining the original exterior character of the home
